MBA graduates typically begin the path to achieving their CMA by meeting the program requirements to be eligible for the Strategic Leadership Program. Candidates then have the option of completing the two-year CMA Strategic Leadership program, or taking advantage of the CMA for MBA program delivered by Wilfrid Laurier University in as little as ten months. Courses run Friday evenings and all day Saturday every second weekend.
Graduates from MBA programs accredited by CMA may qualify to proceed directly to the 10-month CMA for MBA program. Confirmation of your status will be sent to you with your transcript evaluation.

Fall Term
Course 1: Strategic Thinking & Execution – the Role of the CMA Professional
Learn how one can enable the creation of value in an organization and how to sustain that value over time. The course addresses content in CMA's Strategic Leadership Program that candidates are expected to have covered.
Course 2: Advanced Management Accounting
Learn advanced, current and emerging topics in the field of management accounting. Course material draws upon the previous foundation courses taken within the program.
Winter Term
Course 3: CMA Competency Fulfillment, Case Exam and Board Report Preparation
Topics include capital investment appraisal, advanced variance analysis, management control and financial reporting by not-for-profit and government entities and internal control. The course will also consider the impact of IFRS on accounting practice and financial statement analysis. Finally, there will be an update of recent changes to the CA Handbook. The course will also prepare candidates for the CMA Case Exam and Board Report.
Spring Term
Course 4: CMA Competency, Case Exam and Board Report Preparation
This course further builds on course 4, going deeper into investment appraisal, variance analysis, management control and financial reporting. In addition to these foundational topics, it will cover the latest in reporting standards and statement analysis. The emphasis of the course will be upon preparation for the CMA Case Exam and Board Report.
